The physicians at the Center for Pain Management have many techniques and methods available to help you manage your chronic pain. We have a variety of tools available because every patient is different. That’s why when you visit our center, we’ll sit down with you one on one to go over your medical and injury history. By pinpointing the cause of your chronic pain, we’ll be able to develop the best treatment to help you manage it. One conventional treatment that is available is an Epidural Steroid Injection, also known as an ESI. The injection of steroids into the area will help inflamed nerves located there and ideally reduce the chronic pain. How long the relief lasts depends on numerous factors that are unique to each and every patient. However, relief will often last weeks and even months depending on the nature of the chronic pain.

A newer method for pain management that has been developed recently is spinal cord stimulation therapy. This therapy involves implanting a small device under the skin near the spine. This device will send out very low voltage electrical charges into the spine. These electrical charges will stimulate the spine and give patients a tingling sensation. Spinal cord stimulation is not a solution for chronic pain and will not eliminate it. However, it does reduce the amount of pain someone will feel allowing them to do more without being hampered by chronic pain. Whether or not this is the right treatment for your pain is something you and your doctor will discuss when you visit our pain management facility.
